How To Prepare:
1 Month Prior - Discontinue use of the following, vitamin A, retinol products, lash and or eyebrow growth serums.
2 Weeks Prior - Do not have Botox or lip fillers. Do not tan or have a sunburned face. Do not have any type of facial or peel. In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor color deposit, do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E (Natural blood thinners).
1 Week Prior - Do not pick/tweeze/wax or perform electrolysis on designated area. Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins blood). Tylenol is acceptable. Do not tint you eyebrows. If you wear eyelash extensions please remove 1 week before treatment, You may reapply lash extensions once your eyeliner is healed.
24-48 Hours Prior - Do not drink any alcohol 24-48 hours before your tattoo.
Day Of - You may take Tylenol to aid with discomfort before your treatment. Please do not consume caffeine. Also refrain from exercise before your procedure.
Immediately following your procedure you will be given a detailed yet simple set of aftercare instructions. You will also be given ointments to aid in your healing process.
Although healing periods vary from person to person, the following information serves as a general guide of what to expect.
Day of treatment you may or may not experience redness, tenderness, little to mild swelling or a headache. You may apply ice covered by a cloth and gently lay over the area as well as take Tylenol or Advil to treat any discomfort. The area will appear prominent in color.
During the 1st week minimal scabbing develops causing the color of the treated area to appear bolder each day. The top layers of skin will begin to shed approximately on day 7-10, and you will see a loss of color as well as flaking. During this time you may utilize benadryl to aid in any discomfort caused by possible itching.
During this process, your tattoo will fade 30-40%, soften and lighten. You may think you have lost too much color. Be patient, your skin is still regenerating and exfoliating. No matter what, DO NOT peel your skin. Let it peel on its own. To pull the skin off, you will remove 'plugs' of dermal pigments, as it has not detached itself completely at this point.
Please Note:
The true healing process takes about 4-6 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true color, as it will appear to take on new strength. Once the healing is complete, you are now free to enjoy your new look!
We recommend waiting 6-8 weeks post procedure to critique your brows or other permanent makeup procedure. At this point you will have had a full cycle of cellular regeneration in which the tattoo has now become part of the dermis, seen under the epidermis.
Many clients may need more than one treatment. Microblading clients have a complimentary perfecting session held between 6-8 weeks from their initial session. All other permanent cosmetic procedures have an option for a touch-up between 8-12 weeks for a nominal fee.
Some clients will be perfectly pleased with one session. Others will desire more definition or added color. If you choose to receive a touch-up, we will check how your skin has taken the color and make necessary adjustments. Otherwise we look forward to seeing you for your future maintenance session known as a color refresher.
